Nothing Sells Advertising Like White Gun Nuts and a White Supremacist with a Story about Guns: The Fox News Mantra
Tucker Carlson proved once again that he has no integrity, no morals, and no shame. He is desperate to increase his ratings as demands to fire him from Fox grow daily.
After Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of murdering two men and shooting another on Friday, he sat down with Carlson on his failing broadcast. So, naturally, the 18-year-old murderer offered lies, and the fake journalist encouraged him to do so.
“This case has nothing to do with race,” Rittenhouse told Tucker Carlson in excerpts released by Fox News. “It never had anything to do with race. It had to do with the right to self-defense.”
Let’s take a look at this short statement which is filled with lies.
It had everything to do with race. Rittenhouse lives in Aurora, Illinois, and traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to join a militia group of admitted neo-Nazis attempting to intimidate a group of Black Lives Matter supporters protesting another murder of a black man by a cop. When he argued with three of the protestors, He shot all three with his military assault rifle, killing two. One was shot in the back, and only two of the three victims were armed with a weapon.
Before the trial, Rittenhouse was photographed with members of the Proud Boys, a well-known neo-Nazi group that has frequently voiced its support of Trump and his fascist plans for America.
Carlson continues to spread lies and create conspiracy theories about everything from President Biden’s “Build Back Better” proposal to the COVID-19 vaccine. I cannot understand how Fox maintains its FCC broadcast license. They have been breaking regulations for over 25 years and must be stopped. The right-wing propaganda machine has been dividing our nation and brainwashing its viewers for far too long.
Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs, and others could never find employment at a legitimate news agency. They are nothing more than paid liars. However, Fox viewers believe they are stars. The on-air personalities tell them what they want to hear.
The truth is that I do not watch television news today, period. I was fortunate to have grown up in the 1950s and ’60s. I was privileged to watch broadcasts that had legitimate journalists like David Brinkley, Edward R. Murrow, and of course, the legendary Walther Cronkite. We were given the news without opinions for one-half hour each weekday evening. The intent was for us to take the facts and form our own opinions. We were not told what to think by personalities with their own agenda. Most do not use words today, but facial expressions and body language offer volumes.
In 1996 Rupert Murdoch created Fox News with the aid of right-wing strategist Roger Ailes. Their goal was to create a network that would encourage advertisers to make the new network financially successful. Ailes was aware that sensationalism attracts viewers, and the more viewers, the higher their ratings. The higher their ratings, the more advertisers they would attract. And the stories did not have to be true. Few were based on facts. They exist with the same philosophy today.
Rittenhouse was a gift to Fox, right-wing politicians, and every fascist, extremist group in America. Unfortunately, the truth is he is just another piece of white trash who believes the 2nd Amendment comprises the entire Constitution.
