Once Again Every MAGA Republican Senator Gave the Middle Finger to America

It was nothing new. On Saturday, all 50 fake MAGA Republicans in the Senate gave the middle finger to our nation and our nation’s people, proving that they are indeed the party of plutocrats.

On Saturday, all 50 Democrats and the deciding vote by Kamala Harris did the right thing. Although all 50 MAGA Republicans refused to support the American people and their country’s future, the bill to reform the tax code, tackle climate change, and lower the cost of prescription drugs was approved, with the final passage expected today.

These “Trump MAGA Republicans” once again proved that they are intentionally incompetent and have no interest in the needs and wishes of the people. They support the plutocracy, not the American people.

“The time has come for the Senate to begin debate on this historic piece of legislation. The Inflation Reduction Act is a groundbreaking bill for the American people, for families struggling to pay the bills, for seniors struggling to pay for medication, for kids struggling with asthma,” Schumer said on the floor moments before the vote.

“This is one of the most comprehensive and impactful bills Congress has seen in decades,” he declared, promising it would reduce inflation, lower drug costs, fight climate change, and close tax loopholes.

I promise that “the truth lives here.” If this were another right-wing effort to reduce taxes on the super-rich and largest corporations, all 50 fake MAGA Republicans would have voted in favor without hesitation. However, this bill will benefit 330 million people, so they naturally oppose it.

These same MAGA Republicans fight to fund the Pentagon, knowing they waste 50 cents of every dollar, but to save our nation for future generations is, for them, a waste of money.

Take a moment to think about this. Not a single politician on the right side of the aisle had the courage to do the right thing, including some I hoped would return to their Republican principles. Neither Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), Lisa Murkowski (R- Alaska), nor Susan Collins (R-Maine) had the courage or patriotism to pass legislation that would serve all Americans for years to come.

Even Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) did the right thing for once. Vice-President Kamala Harris should never have been required to approve this bill. No one who pretends to be a Republican stood for you and me. They are fighting for our nation’s 724 billionaires and 22.3 million millionaires, the same people who created “greedflation.”

There are two very important elections coming which will decide your future and the future of those you love. If these corporate stooges regain control of the legislature, all is lost, and the continued existence of America is in danger. This is no exaggeration, and if you are paying attention, this is reality.

Please vote on November 8th and on November 5, 2024. This is your country. Take it back from the millionaires and billionaires. Your quality of life can be better; theirs already is and has been for the last 50 years as Republicans became the party of special interests.
