Peter Doocy is another ‘not very good’ Fox-paid liar. He is assigned to the White House Press Corps where he frequently attempts to challenge Press Secretary, Jen Psaki. When it comes to a ‘battle of wits,’ he comes to a gunfight armed with a butter knife.
I have lost count of the number of times Psaki put Doocy “in his place.” His attempts to spin the facts are pitiful, as demonstrated by a recent exchange about the difference between the way Donald Trump and Joe Biden handled the pandemic.
Truth be told, Trump never “handled” COVID-19. For months he told the American people that “it will just go away.” He has been accused of direct responsibility for at least 130,000 deaths based on his failure to do anything for months after the coronavirus began to spread into the United States.
However, during a press conference, Doocy attempted to distort the facts. He is another Fox tool who exists in an alternate universe.
“In 2021, when roughly 220,000 Americans had already died of COVID, Joe Biden said about Trump, ‘Anyone who was responsible for that many deaths should not remain as President of the United States of America.’ Is that still the standard now that more Americans have died under President Biden?”
Big mistake, Doocy boy. You gave Psaki an opening to relay all the facts about the Trump administration’s deadly failures related to COVID-19.
I won’t put her entire response in this short article. However, she pointed to several facts after asking a vital question: “what did Trump do to alleviate the suffering and deaths of hundreds of thousands of American men, women, and children?”
Psaki pointed to Trump’s suggestion that victims drink bleach. She added his chosen ignorance that “when warmer weather comes, it will just go away.” Then, she reiterated the fact that Trump’s words were undoubtedly responsible for millions of Americans by not taking sufficient action to prevent the spread.
She also praised President Biden for his efforts to distribute the vaccine, and how he remains engaged in efforts to end the pandemic. Unlike his predecessor, he is a working president.
When she was asked about her encounters with Doocy, she displayed a level of class not seen in the four years of the Trump administration by his feckless press secretaries.
“People don’t see this every day, but we fully recognize Peter Doocy as — and many reporters, right? — they are doing their jobs and working on behalf of the media organizations they represent and asking, sometimes, their questions that are tough,” Psaki, 42, said in a recent interview with Mediaite.
She continued: “But my engagement with him, people don’t always see this, but outside the briefing room, it is entirely professional and entirely, hopefully, responsive.”
Unlike her predecessors, she is in complete control of every press conference. She is intelligent and well-informed, something which never happened between 2017 and 2021.
Psaki remains professional, even if some of the “journalists” she encounters are not.
“It never feels like someone is ‘destroying me’ or I am ‘destroying’ anyone else,” said Doocy, who has been with Fox News since 2009. “It’s perfectly civil.”
Unfortunately, Psaki announced that she will be leaving sometime next year. She has two small children who need her care and guidance.
