How do fathers celebrate their special day in countries around the world?

In Mexico, fathers run 21km through the city. Finnish fathers sleep in and enjoy their favorite breakfast.

Germans celebrate Father’s Day on the sixth Sunday after Easter. Father’s Day is called Vatertag and it is celebrated on Mannertag (Man’s Day). The women stay home with the children and the dads enjoy the holiday doing man things together for the day.

Thailand celebrates Father’s Day at the beginning of December on the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the father of the nation. Traditionally, everyone wears yellow and the fathers are presented with canna flowers. This is a national holiday.

In South Africa, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June. The tradition is similar to that of the United States. Children give their father’s cards and gifts. They fish together hoping to catch something for dinner.
