AerFin, the Welsh aviation services company, has been acquired in a deal valued at £475 million, the firm confirmed. The Caerphilly-based business, which specialises in aircraft parts and asset management, was majority owned by a private equity firm before the transaction. In a statement, AerFin said the sale marked the beginning of a "new chapter" for the company, without disclosing the identity of the buyer or the precise structure of the agreement. The deal is among the larger recent transactions involving a Welsh-headquartered aviation business.

The acquisition comes amid sustained consolidation in the global aviation aftermarket sector, where demand for parts, maintenance and asset trading has grown as airlines extend the service lives of older aircraft. AerFin, founded in 2010, has expanded its portfolio to include aircraft trading, component support and end-of-life asset management for carriers and lessors worldwide. Neither the company nor its former majority shareholder disclosed financial terms beyond the headline figure. The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals, and further details are expected once those conditions are satisfied.
